My Dear Brother Hasan, Assalam-o-Alaikum,
It was so nice to see your email today and I wish you all the best in this Election esp., from the perspective of taking up some position for visible results in terms of Branding / Positioning of our Institute. There is a lot to be done and I am sure persons like you can really contribute.

With best personal regards,
Masoud Ali Khan, FCMA

Assalam u Alaikum

A simple and short request. We all know what has happened with the
Institute in the past so kindly refrain from highlighting it. Just
try to be positive and proactive. I dont understand one thing when
ICAP elections take place no such mails are sent. On the contrary
hardly anyone talks about the elections and it happens peacefully and
well yes PROFESSIONALLY. Though i am not a member of ICAP but know
handful of members of the institute so know about its happenings.
Whereas, to the contrary what happens when the elections of our
respected Institute takes place is beyond words. Sorry to be so blunt
about my statements but this is a fact whether you all agree to it or
not.

Have been writing loads of letters to the institute and its council
members in the past and have been very vocal about it but nothing
happend. So have stopped doing so. But again i dont even try to
publicize any negative things. Borderline dedication is lacking in us
and that is not the case with other institutes as they are
progressing and everyone knows where we are heading. Anyways best of
luck to all contestants and hope those who come on the coveted seats
do genuinely make a difference.

It was really nice to go through the very well articulated, focussed and hard-worked document "Strategic Redirection". Only a team of highly professional members headed by a thorough professional and visionary leader can make that happen. I don't know Mr. Hasan personally, but I have a strong feeling that he is one of those who can be the thought leaders capable of handling practical aspects at the same time. I found myself in total agreement with Mr. Hasan on the point that Banking and Financial Sector is the mjor job provider for finance professionals and it is bound to expand in the years to come owing to huge untapped market. ICMAP definately needs to change its strategy in line with the changing dynamics of todays business world. A cost accountant wouldn't attract a large number of todays well informed employers, rather a value adding financial manager with leadership capabilities and specialization in key areas of Finacial Management e.g. Investment Management, Risk Management, Treasury etc. would better suit to their needs.
I couldn't agree more on the issues of re-branding and re-positioning of ICMA. Chartered Management Accountant(proposed for ICMAP qualified) would be way better title than Cost Accountant. All the best........Aqeel

Dear Mr. Hasan Bilgrami

I had sent you a congratulation email along with some suggestions but received no response from your end. Earlier before election I was constantly receiving a lot of emails, SMS and phone calls etc. Should I presume that it was just an election campaign and I should wait for another 3 years to communicate with you again?

Best Regards

Dear Mr.Hasan Bilgrami,

I have read your article (ICMAP - Strategic Re-direction).It is quite interesting and informative.

As now you are ICMAP president, we expect that this (as per article) must be implemented and well executed.

Assalam O Alaikum. I am taking liberty to write to you to express my interest in serving Bank Islami. I had contacted the concerned officials in the bank but probably could not gain their attention.

I have as a last resort decided to write to you directly.

I have sent you my detailed resume for your perusal and kind consideration on your email address hasan@hasanbilgrami.com.

As a brief I have been attached with the banking industry since 1994 of which 10 were with MCB, and 2 with Meezan Bank in Pakistan. I have since been in the UAE and my last working position was with Mashreq's Islamic Banking Division (branded as Badr Al Islami) as Manager Compliance & MLRO (dual reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, Mashreq and the Group Head of Badr Al Islami.) I am also a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist besides having an M.A and an MBA.

I would appreciate it very much if you give me a consideration for a suitable position in your organization.

I would be highly indebted if you respond to this mail even if it is for the sake of regrets.

Regards,

Waseem Baig
